आन्दोलनरत नेपाल १ टेलिभिजनका सञ्चारकर्मी तथा कर्मचारीको मागप्रति ऐक्यबद्धता जनाउँदै नेपाल पत्रकार महासंघले आज टेलिभिजन कार्यालयमा भर्ना दिने भएको छ।

महासंघले अपरान्ह एक घण्टा जमलस्थित नेपाल १ को कार्यालयमा धर्ना दिन लागेको महासचिव विष्णु निष्ठुरीले जनाएका छन्। हिजोबाट दुइ जना सञ्चारकर्मीले आमरण अनसन शुरु गरेपछि महासंघले उक्त निर्णय गरेको हो।

यसैबीच, नेपाल १ को मुख्यालय भारतको नयाँदिल्लीमा कार्यरत कर्मचारीले पनि नेपालका कर्मचारीले गरेको आन्दोलनप्रति समर्थन जनाएका छन्। त्यहाँ काम गरिरहेका सम्पूर्ण कर्मचारी तथा सञ्चाकर्मीले विज्ञप्ति मार्फत ऐक्यवद्धता जनाएका छन्।

यता, आमरण अनसन बसेका सञ्चारकर्मीलाई आज नेपाली कांग्रेसका महामन्त्री कुलबहादुर गुरुङको नेतृत्वमा गएको टोलीले भेटघाट गरेको छ। त्यस्तै भारतीय कम्युनिष्ट पार्टी मार्क्सवादीका नेता सीताराम येचुरीले पनि आन्दोलनप्रति ऐक्यबद्धता जनाएका छन्।

Nepal Yuvraj Adhikary, a local correspondent of Radio Nepal , was attacked by the cadres of Maoist aligned Young Communist League (YCL) on 2 May at Kusumba market of Bardiya, mid-western district of Nepal.

Adhikary had reached Kusumba market to collect news about the clash between the security forces and a group of refugees and freed bonded laborers led by YCL. The clash had erupted between a group of armed police force that was deployed at the market for the border security and the group led by YCL. While Adhikary was reporting the news, the YCL cadres hurled stones at him and attacked him with sticks.

They even chased him for about 500 meters. He then ran and locked himself inside a bathroom of a neighbor and thus saved himself. The YCL cadres then reached his home, located near the market, and broke the windowpanes of his house. Adhikary had received threats from the YCL cadres in the past for writing news about them.

According to Yuvraj Shrestha, president of FNJ Bardiya branch, Adhikary has been receiving threats through telephone in the name of YCL cadres saying that they can abduct or kill him anytime.

Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the incident and has demanded the concerned party to take action against the guilty and provide proper compensation to the victim.

Nepal Lokshari Kuwar editor/publisher of Morning Bell daily was captured and attacked by a group of indecorous people on 2 May at Dhangadi of Kailali, a far western district of Nepal.

According to Birendra Rawal, president of Press Chautrai Nepal , three hooligans Ganesh Chand, Lalit Kuwar and Prem Kalel beat him brutally. During the attack, he received serious wound on his head, neck and two of his teeth are broken. He is being treated at Seti Regional Hospital .

Rawal said that the investigation of the incident is underway. He also informed that journalist Kuwar might have been attacked as he had disseminated the news related to timber smuggling, prostitution in the area and illegal export/import of goods from the Indian border. Prem Kalel, one of the indecorous person was arrested and is under the custody of ward police.

Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the incident and has urged the government to find and punish the guilty. The Federation has also urged the government to provide safety and security to the journalists.

जसमा प्रस्तुत गरिएका विभिन्न नृत्यमध्य मञ्जुश्री, धाननाच, झाँगर नाच, घाँटु नाच, शेर्पा नाच र समग्रमा नेपालमा रहेका सबै जातजातिको संस्कृति झल्कने नृत्यहरु प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो । उक्त साँस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथि कोरियाका लागि नेपाली कार्यबाहक राजदूत यादव खनाल रहनु भएको थियो भने अन्य अतिथिमा छनान महानगरपालिकाका उपप्रमुख, कोरिया वल्र्ड पिस फोरमका अध्यक्ष, सोनसिकका अध्यक्ष प्रमोद श्रेष्ठलगायतका हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।

त्यसैगरी कार्यक्रमका निर्देशक केशव सापकोटाले दिनुभएको जानकारीअनुसार कोरियामा दुई महिनासम्म रही कोरियाका विभिन्न सहरहरुमा नेपालको संस्कृति झल्कने किसिमका साँस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत गरिने भएको छ।

Democracy Day was celebrated with a program organized by civil society at Durbar Square Kathmandu today. The program started with a rally from Kalanki, famously known as Loktantrik Chowk (Democracy Crossroad).

The rally took around of Kalimati, Teku, Tripureshwore, Shahid Gate and finally concluded into a mass gathering upon reaching Durbar Square. Along with FNJ President Bishnu Nisthuri, various political leaders, Maoist Supremo Prachanda, civil society members, artists and others expressed their views about the political situation of this one year after the restoration of Democracy.

At the program president Nisthuri stressed on his disappointment on the long transitory period of nation and said that he soon wants to see the nation as a Republic one. Similarly,

FNJ organized a photo exhibition in a program organized by civil society on 23rd April at Durbar Square. The exhibition portrayed the pictures of people’s movement.

कोरियाको महान पर्व छुसकको अवसरमा २००७-९-२५ तारिखका दिन कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरिने जानकारी आयोजक संस्थाका अध्यक्ष प्रेम गुरूङले दिनु भएको छ । आयोजक एनकेसीएफले प्रवासी भूमिमा रहेर पनि देशको संस्कृतिको प्रवर्द्धन, विस्तार र पहिचान गराउन र लोप हुँदै गएको नेपालको संस्कृतिको जगेर्ना गर्नका लागि प्रवासी भूमि दक्षिण कोरियामा स्थपित मञ्चले यहाँ रहेर पनि आफ्नो देशको साँस्कृतिक पहिचान यहाँका विभिन्न स्थानमा गराउँदै आएको जानकारी गुरूङले दिनु भएको छ ।

उहाँले दक्षिण कोरियाको महान पर्व छुसक, सान्नालको लामो विदामा कुनै साँस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम नगरेको हुनाले यस पटकको छुसकमा सेप्टेम्बर २५ तारिखका दिन दिन नेपाल-कोरिया साँस्कृतिक मञ्च दक्षिण कोरिया विशेष साँस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम गर्न लागिएको मञ्चका अध्यक्ष प्रेम गुरुङले बताउनुभयो । त्यसको लागि नेपालबाट ख्यातिप्राप्त कलाकारहरु झिकाउने जानकारी पनि प्राप्त भएको छ ।

आयोजक संस्थाले त्यस दिन कुनै पनि संघ/संस्थालाई कार्यक्रम नजुधाई दिनहुनु आव्हान गरेको छ । अध्यक्ष प्रेम गुरुङले दक्षिण कोरियामा रहनु भएका समस्त नेपाली दाजुभाइ तथा दिदीबहिनी र संघ/संस्थाबाट यस अघि जस्तै सहयोगको अपेक्षा गर्नु भएको छ ।

उदयपुरको रिस्कु गाविस- ७ का बासु पोखरेलले मलेसियाबाट दिएको जानकारीअनुसार कम्पनी सञ्चालक लि सोन होङले सम्झौतापत्रमा तोकिए अनुसारको तलव सुबिधा नदिई होस्टेल मर्मत, पानी, बिजुली बापत तलब कट्टा गर्ने गरेको बताउनुभयो । कम्पनी सञ्चालकले दुर्घटनामा परेका कामदारहरूलाई हालसम्म क्षतिपूर्ति पनि दिएको छैन ।

पोखरेलले काठमाडौं स्थित ईस्ट वेस्ट ओभरसिज प्रालि, भैरव इन्टरनेसनल सर्भिस प्रालि र हिमालय जब एक्प्लोरर प्रालिमार्फत उक्त कम्पनीमा पुगेको बताउनुभयो । नेपाली कामदारहरूले कम्पनी सञ्चालक होङसँग आफूहरू आर्थिक शोषणमा परेको गुनासो गर्दा सञ्चालकले मलेसियन प्रहरी प्रयोग गरी दैनिक कुटपिट र दुव्र्यवहार गर्ने गरेको पोखरेलले जानकारी दिनुभयो ।

कुटपिटबाट ६ भन्दा बढी कामदारहरू घाइते भएको उहाँले बताउनुभयो । कम्पनी सञ्चालकले सवै नेपाली कामदारलाई कम्पनी भित्रै थुनेर राखेको तथा सयौं नेपाली कामदारहरूको लत्ता कपडासमेत जलाइदिएको बताइएको छ । यसैगरी सोही कम्पनीमा कार्यरत एक नेपाली मजदुरलाई विगत १ महिनादेखि मलेसियन थुनामा राखेको बताइएको छ । उनको नाम खुल्न सकेको छैन । नियम अनुसारको सवै कर तिरिसक्दासमेत विभिन्न बहानामा तलव कट्टा गरिएपछि उनीहरूले विभिन्न ६ सूत्रीय मागसहित एक हप्ताअघि कम्पनीमा तालाबन्दी गरेका छन् ।

कम्पनीमा सिराहा, सप्तरी, धनुषा, उदयपुर जिल्लाका कामदारहरूको सङ्ख्या बढि रहेको छ । त्यहाँ नेपालीसहित भियतनाम, भारत, बङ्गलादेश, म्यानमार र इन्डोनिसियाका ५ हजार भन्दा बढी मजदुरहरू कार्यरत रहेको जनाइएको छ ।

सरकारले निर्धारण गरेको समय सीमा नाघेर घुम्तिटोलीले यहाँ शनिवार पनि नागरिकता वितरण गरेको छ । शुक्रवारको निर्णय भन्दै करिब साढे ४ सयलाई शुक्रवारकै मितिमा शनिवार नागरिकता बाँडिएको हो । घुम्तिटोलीले शनिवार बाँडिएको नागरिकताको यकिन सङ्ख्या दिनसमेत अस्वीकार गरेको छ ।

‘जन्म र वंशजको आधारमा करिब साढे ४ सय नागरिकता वितरण गरियो’ मेचीनगर नगरपालिकाको लागि खटिएको ४ नम्बर घुम्तिटोली प्रमुख मणिराम न्यौपानेले भन्नुभयो- ‘यकिन सङ्ख्या दिन सकिदैन ।’ यसअघि टोलीले दैनिक विवरण सहजै उपलब्ध गराउने गरेको थियो ।

शनिवार बाँडिएका नागरिकतामध्ये आधा जन्मको आधारमा र आधा वंशजको आधारमा रहेको समेत न्यौपानेले जनाउनुभयो । शुक्रबार प्रमाणपत्रमा नाम लेखेर फोटो टाँस्न मात्र बाँकी रहेका नागरिकता शनिवार बाँडिएको दाबी टोलीप्रमुख न्यौपानेले गर्नुभयो । ८ दललाई रोहवरमा राखेर शुक्रवार भएको निर्णयका आधारमा नागरिकता वितरण गरिएको दाबीसमेत न्यौपानेको छ । तर, सञ्चारकर्मीहरू शनिवार मध्यान्ह नागरिकता वितरणस्थल मेचीनगर नपा कार्यालय परिसर पुग्दा आठदलका प्रतिनिधि अनुसूची फारम छानविन गरिरहेका थिए भने कर्मचारी प्रमाणपत्रमा नाम लेख्न व्यस्त थिए ।

टोलीप्रमुख न्यौपाने आफैं अनुसूची फारम जाँच गर्न व्यस्त हुनुहुन्थ्यो । ‘न्यौपानेको भनाइ अनुसार उहाँ प्रमाणपत्रमा सही गर्न व्यस्त भेटिनु पर्ने थियो, या त नागरिकता वितरण कार्य मात्र भइरहेको हुनुपथ्र्यो’, अनुगमनमा नगरपालिका कार्यालय परिसर पुगेका सञ्चारकर्मी उपेन्द्र पोखरेल भन्नुभयो- ‘समयसीमा नाघेर नागरिकता वितरण गरिएको प्रष्ट देखिएको छ ।

टोलीका अनुसार जन्मको आधारमा १ हजार ९ सय ९७, वंशजको आधारमा ५ हजार ८१ र अङ्गीकृत २ सय ७७ गरी ४१ दिनमा ७ हजार ३ सय ५५ जनालाई मेचीनगर क्षेत्रमा नागरिकता वितरण गरिएको छ । छानविनको दायरामा राखिएका १ सय ६ वटा नागरिकता जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय पठाइएको टोलीले जनाएको छ ।

Nepal Krishna Thapa, correspondent of Kantipur daily was threatened by Minnath Devkota, Chairman of Rasuwa Hospital Development Committee on 19 April at Dunchhe, Rasuwa, Central Region of Nepal.

Devkota threatened him for not covering the news of health camp organized by the Rasuwa Hospital . Devkota said "I will kill these types of journalists - what are you thinking about me?"

Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) condemned the act and has urged the respected people to respect press freedom and freedom of expression. The federation has also urged to not to force the journalists to disseminate the news as per the self interest of a person or organization.

Nepal Santosh Neupane, Editor/Publisher of "Narayani Express National Daily" published from Hetauda was threatened by Maoist on 22 April at Mahari Bazaar, Hetauda. Neupane was threatened for publishing various news related to the Maoists.

The news that the daily published are, about the conflict between Maoists and locals on 16 April at Bashmadi of Makawanpur and about the clash between timber contractor and Young Communist League (YCL) on collecting money from local bazaar on 18 April. The newspaper on 20 April had also disseminated the news about robbing and attacking the house of three people that were imprisoned by Maoists.

They were released on 19 April form Southern Regional Jail of Maoists located at Hatiya village of Makawanpur . After the publication of these news, the Maoists interrupted the vehicular activity at Manahari Bazaar, Makwanpur, demanding that editor Neupane should come to the bazaar and ask for forgiveness.

The issue was solved after an all party meeting. An unidentified person who called himself to be a Maoist on 22 April threatened Neupane through telephone to take his life and to set the publication house on fire. Neupane also informed that he has been receiving threats in the past whenever he disseminated news against the Maoists.

Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the incident and has expressed its serious concern over the continous threats against journalists for writing news.

FNJ also called the Maoists to be committed towards freedom of press and expression. It has also urged the government to ensure safety and security of the journalists and to take immediate action against the guilty.
